Motivational Speaking Presentations

MTG members, staff and volunteers from the corporate and local communities gifted with the ability to connect with young people will regularly visit schools, and make presentations focused on encouraging academic progress and commitment to excellence.

Cool 2B Smart Programs

School Attendance Incentives & Competitions
Through this program MTG focuses on:

Increasing class room attendance in schools.
Motivating students to attend & participate fully in the educational process.
Employing positive peer pressure.
Tracking measurable improvements in attendance.
Some activities include:

Attendance competitions with surrounding schools.
Student, class and/or school rewards for improved attendance.
Announcing winners over the school's PA system, local media outlets and radio stations.
MTG sponsorship of competitions rewarding academic commitment, progress & success through:
Spelling Bees
Math Skills
Olympics
Science Fairs
Art Exhibitions
Reading Programs
Essay Contests
Spoken Word - Poetry Contests

Academic Enrichment Programs

Through these programs MTG will arrange educational fairs to inform students, parents, teachers and school administrators of existing programs and organizations in their communities including Score, KUMON, Sylvan Learning Center, etc.

Academic Enrichment Programs will provide:

Additional challenging work to keep students engaged.
Extra academic assistance in a variety of subjects by offering remedial help.
Resources for students with learning disabilities.
Partnerships with service providers to grant discounts or free access to their programs for families in need.
Partnerships with guidance counselors, school administrators and others to identify students who may not be able to afford supplemental educational programs.
College Preparatory Program

This program will:

Arrange college tours, fairs and informational sessions.
Raise awareness about collegiate opportunities, college choice and college life.
Arrange affordable SAT prep programs.
Provide SAT prep materials for students in need.
Assist families with college applications and financial aid processes.
Partner with school college counseling offices to increase the number of college applicants.
Mentoring/Tutoring Programs

This program will:

Partner with school guidance counselors, teachers & parents to identify students in need of role models and/or one-on-one help with academic subjects.
Recruit educators, college students, school administrators, members of the business community, and qualified volunteers to mentor and/or tutor students.
Mentors will also assist in securing summer jobs and internships/apprenticeships for mentees with interests or skills in particular areas

College Scholarship Program

MTG's long term goal is to raise funds to provide annual monetary college scholarships to students who have shown significant academic commitment, progress, or growth in high school and community involvement.

Partnering With Parents Program

MTG will organize informational seminars and fairs for parents and families addressing various topics critical to maintaining physical and mental health within families, e.g. the importance of nutrition and eating a healthy breakfast before school, obesity, coping with asthma, diabetes, depression, peer pressure and conquering learning disabilities.
